Sam Brown earned a B.S. degree in engineering from SDSU in 1996. Sam Brown is an enrolled tribal member of the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians, Alpine, CA.



Samuel Q. Brown, (Kumeyaay) Born May 6, 1973 La Mesa, California, is the first child of Sam and Remie Brown, and grandson of Ed Brown.

Sam was raised on the Viejas Indian Reservation, and is an enrolled member of the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians. 

Being a hard worker all his life, Sam worked his way through middle and high school at Mar-Tar-Awa campground ground, Viejas Indian School, serving as a teacher's aid, dish washer, and grocery clerk. 

Sam graduated Granite Hills High School in 1991.  Soon after he attended Grossmont College and Cuyamaca Community College, then transferred to SDSU where he earned a Bachelors in mechanical engineering in 1996. 

While at SDSU, Sam tutored local Native American high school students in an after-school programs. He also served two years as president of the Native American Student Alliance helping organize the SDSU Pow Wow and Native American Student Recruitment Conference.

Sam's father, Samuel I. Brown held the exact same post 25 years prior.

A firm believer in continued education, Sam attended classes in bird singing, business, Italian, Spanish, and photography in his spare time.

While enrolling back in school, Sam worked for the Interworks Institute designing equipment for the disabled, then worked for Vernitron and Solar Turbines as a graduate intern. 

In 2001, Sam joined the teaching staff at DQ University at Sycuan (now Kumeyaay Community College) where he taught mathematics to Native American students.

Currently Sam works as one of the few Native American realtors in Southern California.

Sam is married to his beautiful wife, Laura, and they share their life on the reservation raising their beautiful daughter, Isabella.

After working different jobs all his life, Sam enjoys nothing more than the power of real estate.

Sam has been investing in his own properties for the last six years and wants to share what he's learned with the rest of the Native American population.

Sam said, "I have the communities interest at heart and I want serve them to the best of my abilities.
